Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in law enforcement - preferably in schools. Must be an Arkansas Commissioned School Safety Officer or be willing to complete the necessary training and certification process. Must be willing to participate in all required training to maintain CSSO good standing. Must stay up to date on all policies related to school safety.
Duties:
Patrol and monitor school campuses, parking areas, and adjacent areas for unsafe conditions, hazards, illegal acts, suspicious activities, unauthorized persons, or other safety-related conditions or activities. Maintain safety and security of school campus grounds and protect students, staff, and property. Enforce campus and district rules and regulations. Respond to emergency situations. Oversee the district crisis plans and crisis teams. Complete and monitor state-required site safety assessments. Serve as a liaison to the technology department with: the filtering and monitoring systems district surveillance camera checks and playbacks assisting administrators with surveillance videos assisting third-party security contractors during planning and installment of security-related equipment. Ensure compliance at all district campuses with school safety requirements. Collaborate with local law enforcement and school resource officers. Complete all other duties as assigned.
