Fire Suppression Technician

About the Role Centurion Fire & Security is seeking a Fire Suppression Technician to perform safe, accurate, and code‑compliant inspections, service, maintenance, and installation of fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems. This role plays a critical part in protecting customer facilities, ensuring life‑safety compliance, and upholding Centurion's reputation for technical excellence and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Inspections & Service Inspect, test, and maintain fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, pre‑engineered systems, and engineered clean agent systems Perform work in compliance with NFPA standards (10, 17, 17A, 96, 2001) and manufacturer requirements Accurately document deficiencies, tagging, labeling, and service reports Installations & System Upgrades Install new extinguishers and suppression systems Perform system retrofits, cylinder replacements, and component changes Conduct complete system testing and verification Ensure installations meet code, manufacturer specifications, and AHJ requirements Documentation & Customer Communication Complete service tickets, inspection reports, and deficiency lists with detail and accuracy Clearly explain findings, recommended repairs, and next steps to customers Deliver a professional, customer‑focused experience on every job site Submit all required paperwork within designated timelines Safety & Professionalism Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements Maintain a clean, organized work environment and company vehicle Collaborate effectively with service, inspections, and fire suppression leadership Represent Centurion with integrity and professionalism Qualifications & Experience Required / Preferred 3-5+ years of fire suppression experience preferred Arkansas Fire Protection License for Pre-Engineered and Fire Extinguishers required.

Experience with:

Fire extinguishers Kitchen hood systems Pre‑engineered or engineered clean agent systems (preferred) Working knowledge of NFPA codes (or willingness to learn) Strong mechanical skills and comfort using tools and equipment Ability to lift equipment, climb ladders, and work in commercial environments Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Strong attention to detail, especially in documentation Certifications (Preferred, Not Required) Manufacturer certifications (Ansul, Kidde, Amerex, Pyro‑Chem, etc.) NICET Special Hazards certifications are a plus Additional state licenses or any other Arkansas licenses a plus Ideal Candidate Traits Detail‑oriented and organized Reliable, punctual, and self‑motivated Calm under pressure and able to work independently Strong communicator with a customer‑service mindset Accountable and committed to safety, compliance, and continuous learning What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience Company vehicle and tools Ongoing training and certification support Stable workload and growth opportunities A team‑oriented culture focused on safety and professionalism
