Job Description

Under the direction of the Director of Environmental Health and Safety, the Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator assists with all aspects of the Environmental Health and Safety Program for the entire Valleywise Health system. This position helps implement system-wide environmental health and safety programs, including the OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) and DNV continued compliance. The coordinator assists in planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of health, safety, and environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees, visitors, and patients.
Annual Salary Rate:
$56,160.00 - $82,846.40
Qualifications Education:
Prefer a bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.
Experience:
Prefer a minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible environmental safety experience with progressive responsibility within a healthcare organization, demonstrating a high understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Specialized Training:
Preferred experience of the
OSHA VPP
program related to the healthcare setting. Preferred OSHA 10-hour and/or 30-hour certification.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have knowledge of OSHA and DNV regulations and demonstrate knowledge of environmental safety training. This position requires a demonstrated background and experience in hospital environmental safety programs. The incumbent must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to solve problems. Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
