Job Description

Job Description The EH&S Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining systems that ensure compliance across all environmental, health, and safety programs. This includes assessing compliance status, identifying gaps, developing action plans with cross-functional teams, and tracking/reporting progress to leadership.

This role works closely with plant management to proactively drive EH&S initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a strong safety culture across the facility.
  • Develop and maintain compliant EH&S programs, policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate and support the Emergency Response Plan; participate as a member of the
  • Incident Command System (ICS)
  • Monitor and audit compliance with:
  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
  • Fall Protection
  • Confined Space programs
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance to ensure compliance with Management of Change (MOC) processes
  • Track and report monthly safety metrics in alignment with regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA)
  • Coordinate safety equipment inspections and maintain tracking systems
  • Lead or support incident investigations and root cause analyses
  • Manage the facility observation program and ensure consistent adoption
  • Track and drive closure of EH&S action items (incidents, near misses, observations, audits)
  • Coordinate regulatory inspections (e.g., fire, environmental agencies)
  • Ensure required inspections, certifications, and preventative maintenance activities are completed (e.g., cranes, hoists, lifting equipment)
  • Plan and execute emergency drills (annual, semi-annual, and as required)
  • Maintain documentation for employee exposure monitoring programs
  • Manage Hazard Communication and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) programs
  • Ensure compliance with applicable licensing and regulatory requirements
  • Develop and deliver EH&S training programs for employees
  • Conduct internal compliance audits and self-assurance activities Identify compliance risks and continuous improvement opportunities; implement corrective action plans
  • Review incident trends and recommend improvements to operational controls
  • Act as liaison with regulatory agencies (e.

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field required
  • 3-5 years of EH&S experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) certification preferred
  • ISO experience
