$45/hr Job Summary Rangam is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to support research and development operations in a laboratory environment. This position will work closely with local EHS leadership, employees, and contractors to maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and promote a positive safety culture across the site. The ideal candidate will have experience with OSHA regulations, laboratory safety programs, risk assessments, incident investigations, and EHS compliance activities. Responsibilities Provide EHS guidance and training to employees and contractors. Assist with implementing EHS programs, policies, and continuous improvement initiatives. Conduct laboratory and workplace safety inspections and document findings and recommendations. Support incident investigations and corrective and preventive action programs. Perform EHS risk assessments for laboratory processes, equipment, and workplace activities. Develop and update EHS training materials and standard operating procedures. Support emergency preparedness activities, including emergency response training and drills. Maintain EHS records and documentation in compliance with company requirements. Review laboratory signage and hazard communication materials for regulatory compliance. Research and recommend solutions to support compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local California regulations. Collaborate with site stakeholders to identify and resolve EHS concerns and program gaps. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field. Experience 1-3 years of experience supporting environmental, health, and safety programs. Experience with California OSHA and EPA regulations is required. Experience in laboratory or research environments is preferred. Skills Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and EHS compliance requirements. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to conduct risk assessments and safety evaluations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Work Environment This position supports laboratory operations where biological and chemical hazards may be present. The role requires working onsite during standard day shift hours and may involve walking, standing, and sitting throughout the workday.
