The successful applicant will enjoy a diverse range of responsibilities and a variety of interesting functions . As an Environmental Health Officer joining our Food Safety & Environmental Health team, you will experience a good balance of both office and field-based work. About the team | Ko te rōpū nei Our team helps manage, monitor , and respond to various aspects of environmental and public health. We work to ensure Council meets its statutory obligations in the area of e nvironmental h ealth, primarily through legislation, to deliver high-quality environmental and food safety outcomes for the wider Christchurch community. About the role | Ko te mahi nei A day in the life of an Environmental Health Officer may include: Conducting routine food premises verifications and complaint inspections to assess hygiene and safety standards under the Food Act 2014. Educating and advising food business operators on best practices in food safety. Investigating nuisance and housing complaints under the Health Act 1956 and/or the Building Act 2004 Providing public health advice on resource and building consent applications.
