This role is a customer-facing culinary and sales support position responsible for driving new business growth and enhancing customer experience. The Culinary Specialist partners with sales teams to promote product categories, provide culinary expertise, and support customer solutions through demonstrations, events, and consultative selling. This individual serves as a brand ambassador and represents the company at customer meetings and industry events.Key Responsibilities:
Drive new business growth and support assigned sales goals through culinary expertise and category selling. Partner with sales teams to identify customer needs and deliver food-focused solutions that grow customer business. Conduct product demonstrations, tastings, and sampling to support sales opportunities. Participate in internal and external business reviews with customers. Represent the company at food shows, culinary events, and industry organizations. Support and execute culinary events, including food shows, catering, and customer presentations. Maintain strong knowledge of food trends, market conditions, product innovations, and competitive offerings. Provide guidance on product specifications and menu applications. Track activities and opportunities using CRM tools as required. Support training initiatives through demonstrations and presentations. Manage test kitchen or culinary center operations, including sanitation, inventory, and equipment upkeep. Ensure compliance with local and state food safety and health regulations. Coordinate kitchen logistics and manage food and supply costs within budget. May provide work direction to kitchen assistants, interns, or third-party vendors.Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED required Minimum 3 years of executive chef experience in the foodservice industryPreferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or accredited culinary degree 3+ years of foodservice sales or consultative selling experienceRequired Skills & Knowledge:
Strong culinary skills and knowledge of restaurant operations and food trends. Consultative selling and customer engagement experience. Ability to communicate financial concepts such as food cost, margins, and profitability. Strong business acumen and ability to support sales growth initiatives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently. Strong organizational and time management skills. Proficiency with basic math and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to learn and use CRM and proprietary sales tools.
