Description In this role, you will assist clients in maintaining safe ADA compliant work environments. You will help promote workplace safety by coordinating safety assessments, and assisting with safety training, and helping clients identify potential hazards and risks. A local Kamaaina company is seeking someone who is eager to learn and grow within the safety field. The ideal candidate is someone we can invest in and develop into an expert in a wide range of general workplace safety topics. The position requires regular interaction with clients and employees, including speaking to groups during safety trainings. Candidates should be comfortable presenting information clearly and confidentially. Hours Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:30- 4:30pm Location Honolulu, Oahu Pay $24 to $28 an hour Responsibilities Conduct workplace safety inspections to identify existing or potential hazards. Assist clients in recognizing risks and implementing safer work practices. Support the development and improvement of workplace safety programs and procedures. Assist with planning, coordinating, and delivering workplace safety training sessions. Prepare and organize training materials, manuals, testing procedures, and visual aids. Assist with transporting and setting up training equipment and materials. Participate in and help facilitate safety training for employees and supervisors. Assist with preliminary incident investigations and gather documentation when needed. Support preparation of materials and evidence related to insurance investigations, hearings, or legal matters when applicable. Perform duties associated with emergency response situations when required. Maintain regular communication with the Safety Manager regarding client activities and safety concerns. Prepare basic reports documenting inspection findings and recommendations. Occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Qualifications Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school in safety, environmental health, or a related field preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience in safety, training, or risk management preferred. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals. Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to present information to groups of employees and clients. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments. Valid driver's license with a clean driving abstract. Personal vehicle required for travel to client sites. CPR/AED certified trainer or willingness to obtain certification upon hire. BLS certified trainer or willingness to obtain certification upon hire. First Aid certified trainer or willingness to obtain certification upon hire. Availability to travel to inter-Islands as needed. #
