Job Description

Job Overview Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist II Position Summary The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist II plays a critical role in helping Chlorum Solutions build and maintain a safe, compliant, and high-performing operation. This position supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs for a newly independent manufacturing organization. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a practical, hands-on approach and thrives in a fast-paced environment where building, improving, and owning processes is part of the job. The EHS Specialist II will partner closely with plant leadership and employees to promote a strong safety culture, support regulatory compliance, and drive operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Chlorum's environmental, health, and safety programs, policies, and procedures. Help identify workplace hazards, assess risk, and implement practical corrective and preventive actions. Partner with plant leadership to reinforce a culture where safety, accountability, and ownership are expected at every level. Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action tracking. Coordinate and support emergency response planning, drills, and workforce preparedness. Prepare for and support internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance reviews. Assist in developing and delivering EHS training to employees and contractors. Monitor contractor safety performance and support safe execution of work on site. Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting related to EHS programs and regulatory requirements. Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and behaviors that strengthen safety performance and operational reliability. Serve as a visible, collaborative partner to operations, maintenance, and leadership teams.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience Minimum 2+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing, industrial, chemical, or similarly regulated environments Working knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations and compliance requirements Experience supporting incident investigation, training, audits, and risk reduction efforts Preferred Qualifications Experience in a manufacturing or process industry environment Strong communication and training skills Ability to influence safe behaviors and build trust across all levels of the organization Experience helping stand up, improve, or formalize EHS processes in a growing or changing environment What Success Looks Like Safety programs are implemented consistently and effectively Risks are identified early and addressed with urgency and ownership Employees and contractors understand expectations and work safely Compliance obligations are met and documentation is audit-ready The site continues to strengthen its safety culture and operational discipline Culture & Expectations At Chlorum, we are building a results-oriented culture based on: Collaboration to achieve common goals Truth-seeking through data-driven, transparent decision-making Operational excellence with efficient, safe, customer-focused operations Continuous improvement and accountability for results
