Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - Occupational Health Clinic Careworx West Des Moines, IA Job Details Full-time From $25 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Paid time off 401(k) matching Qualifications Vital signs Customer service Clinic experience Medical scheduling Organizational skills Certified Medical Assistant Full Job Description Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, motivated, and patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our occupational health clinic team. This position will work closely with our providers and nursing staff to support daily clinic operations, injury care, pre-employment services, and ongoing employee health needs. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment while providing excellent customer service to both patients and employer clients. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist providers with patient care and clinic workflow Room patients, obtain vitals, and gather medical histories Prepare patients for examinations and procedures Assist with work-related injury care and follow-up appointments Perform drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines Assist with: Pre-employment physicals Post-offer employment testing Lift Testing/Functional Testing Respirator fit testing and other occupational screenings Complete accurate charting and documentation within the EMR system Communicate professionally with patients, employers, and team members Schedule appointments and assist with patient follow-up communication Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and clinical equipment Support clinic operations and assist with additional duties as needed Qualifications Current CMA certification required Previous experience in occupational health, urgent care, family practice, or a fast-paced clinical setting preferred Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team environment Comfortable performing hands-on clinical tasks Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Experience with EMR systems preferred Schedule & Training This position will initially train and work in our Ankeny clinic location. Over the course of approximately 4-6 months, the CMA will transition to primarily working out of our West Des Moines clinic location.

From $25.00 per hour
