Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our occupational health team. This provider will initially train in our Ankeny clinic before transitioning to become the primary provider in our West Des Moines clinic location. This role is ideal for a provider who enjoys building relationships with employers and patients, thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, and has a passion for mentoring and training staff. The PA will play a key role within the clinic while providing high-quality occupational medicine services, injury care, and employee health support. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Serve as the primary provider for the West Des Moines occupational health clinic Evaluate, diagnose, and treat work-related injuries and illnesses Perform follow-up visits and ongoing care management for injured employees Conduct physical examinations including: Pre-employment physicals DOT and non-DOT physicals Post-offer employment testing Return-to-work and fit-for-duty evaluations Review diagnostic testing and determine appropriate treatment plans and work restrictions Complete accurate and timely charting/documentation within the EMR system Communicate professionally with employer clients, employees, case managers, and referral sources regarding care plans and work status Support Workers' Compensation case management and injury follow-up Collaborate closely with nursing and clinical staff to ensure efficient clinic workflow Assist with clinic operations and occupational health programs as needed Provide hands-on training, mentorship, and guidance to clinic staff Qualifications Current Physician Assistant (PA-C) license in the State of Iowa Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program BLS/CPR certification required Previous experience in occupational medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, family practice, or orthopedics preferred Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills Excellent communication and leadership abilities Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with a team Passion for teaching, training, and developing staff Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Schedule & Training This position will begin with training in our Ankeny clinic location. Over approximately 3 months, the provider will transition into the primary provider role at our West Des Moines clinic.

$50.00 - $65.00 per hour
