Full Job Description Summary:
The Safety Technician's role exists to promote and augment safety on jobsites to the highest level. To reach this level, the Safety Technician must work both independently and together with the SDI superintendent to create a safe workplace environment. Through the use of extensive knowledge of OSHA Standards and state and local regulations, the Safety Technician will provide regular guidance and knowledge to the project teams and address any immediate hazards and understand and react to any potential hazardous exposures. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and establish a safety culture within the project
  • Conduct audits of the project site to verify compliance and identify unsafe conditions
  • Maintain documentation necessary to comply with the Site Safety Management Plan, OSHA and other applicable regulations
  • Work with field superintendent to enforce safety policies and procedures that help prevent accidents
  • Represent the project in incident investigations, complaints, and recommend measure to management to prevent reoccurrences
  • Interact with OSHA and other regulatory agencies regarding citations, accidents, claims, site visits and audits
  • Organize and conduct safety meetings and training
  • Verify that subcontractors are monitoring the implementation of the Site Safety Management Plan
  • Manage the project safety committee; maintain minutes and status report for safety and other meetings and events
  • Interact and communicate with owner, general contractor, and subcontractor safety personnel
  • Able to adapt to a flexible, fast-paced, and dynamic work environment consistent with SDI's core values and mission statement Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications
  • Ability to develop and implement written AHA's and PTP's
  • Understanding of construction environment and risks present
  • Good comprehension of Health & Safety OSHA rules applicable to construction
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Must be organized
  • Team player willing to perform other tasks as assigned
  • Detail-oriented, must have experience on framing and drywall construction sites Experience & Education
  • Minimum 3 years construction experience required
  • OSHA 30
Hour Certification Pay:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
