Job Title:
Safety SpecialistJob Description The Safety Specialist delivers comprehensive safety orientation and ongoing training for field employees and subcontractors while actively monitoring job sites to ensure a safe working environment. This role supports incident case management, leads and documents safety investigations, and maintains accurate OSHA-related records. The Safety Specialist partners closely with project teams and supervisors to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and promote a strong safety culture across construction operations. Responsibilities + Deliver safety orientation and ongoing safety training to field employees and subcontractors to ensure understanding of company policies and regulatory requirements. + Support incident case management, including coordinating and providing transportation for injured employees to urgent care when needed. + Participate in incident and near-miss investigations to identify root causes, contributing factors, and appropriate corrective actions. + Prepare initial incident reports immediately following workplace events and ensure timely, accurate documentation. + Maintain accurate safety documentation, including accident logs, OSHA-related records, and other required compliance documentation. + Assist with planning, staging, and monitoring safety controls for Hot Work, Fall Protection, and Confined Space activities. + Conduct routine and ad-hoc job site safety inspections and complete detailed written inspection reports. + Monitor field operations to verify compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. + Partner with supervisors and project teams to proactively identify, reduce, and control job site hazards. + Perform job hazard analyses and risk assessments to support safe work planning and execution. + Contribute to continuous improvement of safety procedures, training materials, and safety management practices. + Use Microsoft Office applications to prepare reports, track safety metrics, and communicate safety-related information. Essential Skills + Minimum of 2 years of hands-on safety experience, with construction safety experience strongly preferred. + OSHA 10 certification (required). + OSHA 30 certification (required). + Solid understanding of federal, state, and local health and safety regulations. + Demonstrated experience performing job hazard analyses and risk assessments. + Experience with safety training, safety management, and safety audits in a construction or similar environment. + Strong knowledge of construction safety practices, including Hot Work, Fall Protection, and Confined Space safety controls. + Ability to monitor compliance with safety procedures and regulatory requirements on active job sites. + Strong ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams, including supervisors and project personnel. + High level of attention to detail with strong observational skills for identifying hazards and unsafe conditions. + Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills for training, reporting, and documentation. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. + Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Occupational Health, or a related discipline preferred. + Construction industry experience strongly preferred. + OSHA 500 certification is a plus. + Experience conducting safety audits and compliance reviews. + Background in health and safety programs within construction environments. + Demonstrated commitment to fostering a positive safety culture through coaching and engagement. Work Environment This role is primarily field-based within active construction environments, where the Safety Specialist spends most of the time on job sites conducting inspections, observations, and training. Some office-based work is included for tasks such as documentation, reporting, and planning, and this office work is performed onsite in Boise. The position involves regular interaction with field crews, supervisors, and project teams in a dynamic, fast-paced setting that requires frequent movement around job sites and consistent adherence to site safety protocols and personal protective equipment requirements. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Boise, ID. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
