This role focuses heavily on safety and requires a strong working knowledge of both 29 CFR 1910 (General Industry) and 29 CFR 1926 (Construction) standards, along with proven experience delivering effective safety training. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on safety professional who can ensure regulatory compliance, promote a culture of safety, and engage employees at all levels. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local EHS regulations, particularly with regard to OSHA standards (both 29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926) Serve as the lead safety trainer for the organization, developing and delivering safety training programs such as fall protection, ladder safety, PPE, HazCom, electrical qualified, lockout authorized, job hazard assessments, and defensive driving Assist with the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety policies, procedures, programs, and training Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and worksite job hazard analyses Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries; identify root causes and implement corrective actions Maintain safety records, reports, and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements, including all customer-specific training requirements that go beyond regulatory requirements Work with Branch personnel to perform worksite pre-startup risk assessments as appropriate; Support Branch or Regional train-the-trainer initiatives Collaborate with management and employees to promote a strong safety culture Coordinate and deliver all customer-required safety, environmental, and health training to ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Track and analyze safety metrics to drive continuous improvement Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, or related field or equivalent experience 5+ years of EHS experience in environments governed by general industry and/or construction standards, with preference to experience with field service activities Demonstrated knowledge of both 29 CFR 1910 and 29 CFR 1926 regulations Proven experience delivering engaging and effective safety training to diverse audiences Strong knowledge of hazard recognition, risk assessment, and incident investigation Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 500
(Outreach Trainer - Construction) certification is highly desired OSHA 510/511 or other relevant OSHA training Professional certifications such as ASP, CHST, or OHST Familiarity with adult learning principles and instructional design Work Environment & Physical Requirements Combination of office and field environments Ability to walk job sites, climb ladders, and wear required PPE Ability to travel to Branches, customers' sites, or project sites as required Key Competencies Strong communication and presentation skills Ability to influence safety culture without direct authority High attention to compliance deadlines and contractual details Comfortable working in both office and field environments Ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting customer requirementsSimilar jobs in Glendale Heights, IL
