Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Safety Specialist for a temporary onsite opportunity in Quincy, IL within a food and beverage production manufacturing environment. This role supports daily health and safety operations at a soybean processing facility and works closely with plant leadership, employees, and the safety management team to help maintain a safe, compliant, and engaged workplace. The Safety Specialist is a great opportunity for an early-career health and safety professional who enjoys a mix of office-based administrative work and hands-on engagement in a manufacturing setting. This position offers exposure to safety compliance tracking, incident investigation, employee safety engagement, audits, training support, and continuous improvement initiatives. The environment is team-focused, fast-paced, and supported by leadership that values safety, accountability, communication, and practical problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
Support daily facility health and safety functions, including compliance tracking, reporting, documentation, and safety management system updates. Work closely with department leaders and plant employees to promote safety action plans, reinforce expectations, and encourage employee engagement. Assist with safety audits, monitoring activities, hazard recognition, risk assessments, and recommendations for corrective actions or controls. Provide administrative support for safety records, filing, scanning, records retention, PolicyTech, and related document control processes. Participate in or support incident investigations, safety reporting, injured employee case oversight, and follow-up actions. Support continuous improvement efforts by participating in performance excellence activities and using improvement tools in daily work.
Compensation and Benefits Pay:
$28 to $30 per hour.
