Caravan Facilities Management, LLC EHS Specialist-Site Level Department:
Environmental Health & Safety Reports To:
Site Manager FLSA Status:
Non-Exempt Summary Coordinates Environmental Health and Safety Program by performing the below duties. This role is a evening to overnight coverage. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Understand, comply with, and communicate company EHS program Develop site specific standardized work for Safety Coordinator/Contract Administrator position Investigate safety incidents, accidents and near misses Work with site managers, supervisors, hourly employees, and customers to ensure accuracy of reports, complete root cause analysis, and corrective actions are effective and complete Conduct site EHS audits Audit Supervisor Safety Books to ensure compliance Audit suppliers on customer and company requirements Coach supervisors on safety responsibilities Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards;OHSAS 18001
requirements;ISO 14001
requirements; and customer and company rules and policies Develop working relationship with the union and communicate on safety issues Attend site EHS committee meetings to share information and assist the site safety programs Produce and deliver both written and verbal reports Conduct and document job hazard analyses Assist with the development of standardized work and pre-task safety plans Enforce all safety and environmental rules Tracks and schedules site training and licensing to ensure it is up-to-date Deliver required training programs for all employees Manage classroom environment - Keep control of class, defuse inflammatory comments and questions Ensures training records are maintained per company procedure. Makes recommendations on training improvements. Maintain supplier EHS documentation including EHS Programs and training records. Ensure suppliers meet all customer requirements. Review pre-task plans for suppliers. Audit suppliers to customer and company requirements. Timely communications within company and with customers. Timely follow-up on all open issues. Ensure confined space air monitor is calibrated as required. Conduct respirator fit testing and training. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Training software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
