Job Summary The Safety Specialist provides support and ensures execution of company safety programs at the facility level to support company performance. Job Responsibilities Conduct site visits to ensure all facilities are prepared for regulatory, corporate and customer compliance audits including ISO, KORE, GAO, OSHA, or DOT. Assist and develop local safety committees and champions to maintain a safe and compliant workplace. Works with risk management, the TPA, and facility leaders to provide support for work comp, auto and general liability claims. Acts as the subject matter expert to develop and implement company-wide safety training programs. Assigns training and provides completion status to departmental leaders. Assists facility leaders to perform incident investigations, root cause analysis, and identification of corrective active plans. Collaborates with external consultants who provide assessments of our compliance programs. Utilizes the findings to develop improvements to the current programs. Develop and implement Job Safety Analysis (JSA) to identify potential hazards and develop risk mitigation strategies. Interacts with governmental agencies, including but not limited to OSHA and DOT, on an as needed basis. Stay up to date on industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure compliance. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree and a minimum of one year of work experience required, or a minimum of five years of progressive job experience including people, project, or account management with leadership and influencing skills required. Experience training employees on safety, OSHA, and DOT management concepts required. Prior manufacturing, DOT, bottling, and multi-facility experience preferred. Knowledge of local, state, or federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Ability to break down or modify complex technical information as needed to communicate it orally or in writing to non-technical company staff. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills required. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams. Valid Driver's License, current vehicle liability insurance, driving record within policy guidelines.
