Job Description

General Position Summary The primary focus for this position is to assist the EHS Manager in ensuring the safety and health of all Team Members and the environment at Franklin Precision Industry. Essential Functions Participate in the investigation of incidents, near misses and property damage incidents. Ensure follow-up is done to minimize future exposure and proper records/documents are maintained Conduct, coordinate, and track various training to support company programs. Conduct routine safety observations to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies, company environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures and practices. Maintain internal and regulatory reporting including data collection and reporting including but not limited to air, storm water, and surface water discharge. Ensure the company meets all its legislative compliance obligations with OSHA, KY/OSHA, EPA, and fire codes. Maintain compliance with permits, government regulations and other industry practices. Keep abreast of any safety and environmental law. Understand the basic requirements of ISO14001 and maintain and manage an EMS. Participate in EHS Committee Meetings and plan and implement measures in response to complaints from members. Utilize EHS Committee members to promote EHS activities throughout the company. Always communicate with the EHS Manager regarding matters related to the environment, health, and safety, and if any problems are discovered, address them promptly together with the relevant departments. Promote the company's carbon neutral activities. Assist in the administration of the Worker's Compensation program, including investigation and tracking of claims. Special projects as required. Additional Functions Actively role model all company environmental, health and safety standards. Establish and maintain effective relationships with Operations, Managers, Supervisors, and Team Members. Job Dimensions (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities or KSAs) Proficient PC skills including Microsoft Office applications Ability to be on call or work off-hours as needed Ability to take necessary steps to ensure a safe work environment for all employees Demonstrated ability to work independently with attention to detail and organizational abilities Superior analytical/ problem solving, written and verbal communications Ability to use statistics to analyze trends and understand data Functional/Technical Knowledge Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements HS Diploma or equivalent required
B.S./B.A.
in Environmental Science or related field preferred Work Experience Requirements 1 - 5 years' experience in automotive manufacturing environment working in EHS or an EHS related field preferred
