Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as an EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Technician and become a vital part of fostering a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace. In this energetic role, you will assist the EHS Coordinator with all coordination/administration of the location's EHS process and assuring comprehensive compliance to policies, corporate initiatives, compliance with local, state and federal safety/environmental standards, and the most current safety technologies. Internally, the incumbent interacts with all Henderson Plant employees, corporate associates and plant support groups. Externally the incumbent assists the EHS Coordinator with interactions with safety organizations, government agencies, OSHA, KY EPA, City of Henderson, ISO 14001 Auditors, suppliers, consultants and customers. Your proactive approach will help us uphold the highest standards of safety and environmental protection while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Duties:
• Monitors industrial safety elements to ensure personnel and facility safety. Supports compliance with applicable federal, state and municipal safety standards. Assists in evaluating new equipment and materials brought into the facility. Performs surveys and inspections to ensure compliance with the organization's policies, procedures, regulations and standards related to employee and facility safety. Assist in developing, delivering, and documenting EHS training programs for employees to promote safe work practices and regulatory adherence. Respond promptly to safety incidents by performing root cause analysis and preparing detailed report writing to support corrective actions. Maintain accurate records related to safety audits, incident reports, first aid treatments, and workers' compensation claims in accordance with legal requirements. Support environmental compliance efforts by monitoring waste management, chemical handling procedures, and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) regulations. Facilitate emergency preparedness activities including CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), first aid training, and emergency response drills. Collaborate with management to implement occupational health initiatives that promote worker well-being and reduce workplace risks. Requirements Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a strong understanding of OSHA regulations and occupational health principles. Certification in first aid, CPR, and OSHA safety standards is highly desirable. Knowledge of EPA regulations related to environmental protection and waste management practices. Support the team in maintaining the EMS in conformance to
ISO 14001
standard and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Familiarity with workers' compensation law processes and reporting requirements. Strong report writing skills with the ability to document incidents, inspections, and corrective actions clearly and accurately. Ability to perform root cause analysis to identify underlying issues contributing to safety incidents or hazards. Excellent communication skills for delivering training sessions and collaborating across teams effectively. $26.32 - $27.57 per hour
