Pay Grade 518 This position is eligible for Hazardous Duty Supplemental Pay ($90/month, $0.52c/hour) and CDL pay ($1.08/hour) upon hire.

DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification it to ensure a safe and healthy work environment through ongoing development and management of a safety program, conducting safety education and training, investigating accidents, and conducting safety inspections.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in a field related to the job Four (4) years of related experience Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Collaborates and coordinates the planning, implementation, and evaluation of new and existing safety and/or inspection programs Conducts inspections and enforces adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals Represents the division in public meetings and coordinates with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies on various projects, as needed Maintains records for CDL licenses, medical certificates, training, inspections, and claims Process property damage and worker's compensation claims Conducts CDL training in accordance with the National Registry of Training Providers (FMCSA) guidelines for Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment. Valid Kentucky Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Class B and a valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner's Certificate in order to qualify and must be maintained as a condition of employment. Must obtain a Valid Kentucky Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Class A with Endorsement N
  • Tank Vehicles within the first six (6) months of employment and must be maintained as a condition of employment.
Must register as a Training Provider per the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) guidelines within the first six (6) months of employment and registration must be maintained as a condition of employment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16 Must be accessible for on-call duty and be able to work weekend and holidays as assigned during emergencies and winter weather events. CDL holders are subject to FMCSA query prior to qualification Please attach a current copy of your CDL license to this application
