Charge:
Support EHS&S initiatives across our steel processing operations, including slitting and material handling. Be theExpert:
Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, MIOSHA, and Ohio OSHA).On-the-Floor Impact:
Conduct routine audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations to identify root causes and implement real solutions.Empower Others:
Develop and deliver engaging safety and environmental training for everyone from new hires to executive leadership.Drive Sustainability:
Support our "green" efforts, including waste reduction, recycling programs, and energy efficiency.Regional Collaboration:
Travel regularly between our Grand Rapids, MI and Cincinnati, OH facilities to provide consistent, on-site support.What We're Looking For Experience:
3+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (Steel or Metals experience is a huge plus).Education:
Bachelor's degree in EHS, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.Regulatory Savvy:
Deep knowledge of OSHA regulationsCertifications:
Professional certifications like CSP, ASP, or CHMM are highly valued.Communication:
Ability to influence and build rapport with people at every level of the organization.Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS management systems. Work Environment & Physical Requirements This is a dynamic role that requires a regular presence in our steel processing facilities. You should be comfortable with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and heavy materials. Ability to wear all required PPE (steel-toe boots, safety glasses, etc.), stand for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Ready to make a difference?
