Chemistry Happens:
The BMT EHS Specialist will be accountable to support the EHS programs at the facility. The basis of the
BASF EHS
initiative includes the preparation of Hazardous Incident Risk Assessments (HIRA), Standard Operating Procedures and Training. The accountabilities include, but are not limited to, hazardous incident identification and management, EHS training, audits and inspections, SOP preparation, hazard communication, MOC, work permits, PPE evaluation, emergency response, process safety and environmental protection. Success:
Be responsible for supporting the site EHS Manager in the following activities: BASF Responsible Care Initiative Organizational activities Support the site manager in maintain site action tracking. Manage contractor pre-qualification and time on site. Maintain site document management system. Regularly check compliance to the site's legal permits. Occupational safety activities Perform hazard identification and risk assessments. Review, maintain, and actively participate in the Safe Work Permit system. Environmental activities Waste management Security Act as the site security representative As the Site Security Representative, you will be responsible for: Develop, implement, and maintain site procedures to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and BASF requirements. Manage and administer the site's security plan to include maintenance of security systems and contracted security forces. Integrate security planning considerations into major projects, new construction, renovations, and labor-related matters. Attend mandatory and recommended security seminars and training. Laisse and collaborate with Corporate Security on security matters and investigations. Record security incidents by completing the online security incidents report, maintaining records of security-related incidents in accordance with the Company's record retention policy, and immediately reporting serious and significant issues to Corporate Security. Preserve evidence and perform preliminary investigations of security incidents under the direction of Corporate Security. Develop security awareness campaigns and provide security training to site personnel. Develop a network with local external law enforcement and emergency service providers. Ingredients for

Bachelor's Degree - Safety, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or a related technical degree or equivalent education & experience 1-3 years of experience working in EHS. (i.e.
GHS, OSHA, RCRA, SARA 312 & 313, 40 CFR
)
CIH, CSP, CHMM, OSHA
Certified desirable but not required Demonstrated knowledge and application of the Responsible Care principles and
ISO 14001
Ability to work with minimal level of guidance & supervision and adapt to rapidly changing priorities First Aid and CPR trained Ability to independently learn and understand technical, regulatory and external issues regarding Safety, Health and Environment. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships Effective decision-making abilities Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of management.
