Industrial Environmental Hygiene Specialist (GMP/Food Safety) Roskam Foods - 2.7 Kentwood, MI Job Details $20 - $23 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Cross-functional collaboration Full Job Description Role overview Reporting to the Sanitation Manager/Supervisor, the Industrial Environmental Hygiene Specialist executes plant-wide sanitation programs and cross‑trains across roles to meet evolving business needs. Cross‑training across all sanitation functions is an essential duty. Primary responsibilities
Food Safety Enforcement:
Uphold and enforce all elements of food safety throughout the facility.
Facility & Grounds Sanitation:
Maintain sanitary conditions across production areas and equipment, ceilings, walls, floors, restrooms, the cafeteria, and exterior grounds (including parking lots).
Equipment Operation:
Safely operate floor scrubbers and scissor lifts. Additional areas/equipment may be designated essential; training will be provided.
Line Cleanups & Records:
Support all line cleanups and complete documentation for pre‑operational inspections, adverse events, and MSS task completion. These are essential functions.
Chemical Stewardship:
Apply cleaners precisely as specified by manufacturers' instructions—an essential function.
Cleaning Matrix Execution:
Interpret and perform cleaning requirements for changeovers, shutdowns, startups, periodicals, 100% organic, 100% wash, 100% allergen, and kosher cleanups—an essential function.
Issue Escalation:
Promptly report discrepancies to the supervisor or Plant Sanitation Manager, including HACCP program issues, Allergen Control concerns, GMP findings, adverse events, and interdepartmental matters—an essential function. Qualifications Basic math proficiency and sound reasoning skills. Flexible availability, including intercompany support and weekend work as required by the business. Work style & growth Cross‑functional agility: Rotate through sanitation roles to support coverage, quality, and continuous improvement—cross‑training is essential.
Readiness for change:
Comfortable shifting priorities for changeovers, shutdowns, startups, and periodicals as directed.
Detail orientation:
Accurate, compliant documentation and adherence to GMP/HACCP/Allergen Control protocols.
