Job Description
Key Roles and Responsibilities Develops programs and procedures designed to reduce occupational and non-occupational accident/injury/illness experiences. Promotes health and safety awareness throughout the organization through effective employee communications, participation, and programming. Coordinates creation of site Health and Safety targets and objectives in support of corporate, regional and business group safety strategic initiatives designed to drive a safety culture, compliance, and results. Manages development and maintenance of training programs on industrial safety, industrial hygiene, emergency planning, government regulations, hazardous materials, and other related issues. Tracks training completion. Implements all aspects ISO45001, 14001 and 50001. Identifies action-based health & safety goals for site leadership team members, functional managers and front-line leaders to support achievement of the site's safety targets and objectives. Ensures completion of site and workstation-level risk assessments to identify and prioritize Health and Safety aspects and hazards. Supports the deployment of Health and Safety element champions and teams and facilitates their engagement in ownership of the activities required to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement. Manages the completion of a campus-wide evaluation of compliance with Federal, State, local and company Health and Safety requirements (OSHA, MIOSHA, etc.) Identify applicable OSHA, federal and state regulations to ensure compliance through standardized processes. Prepare and submit government reports as required by all applicable regulations. Leads site efforts to ensure that key Health and Safety operational controls are in place and that Health and Safety action items are resolved on a timely basis. Investigate workplace incidents. Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. Education and Experience (minimum qualifications) Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or closely related field from an accredited institution. Minimum 3-5 years' experience in assisting with management of environmental, occupational health or safety programs within a manufacturing center environment. Professional certification preferred (Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager or Certified Fire Protection Specialist). Ergonomics preferred. Management systems knowledge of planning, objectives and targets, preventative and corrective action, and monitoring/inspecting/auditing. Must have ability to work with minimal supervision and must be capable of implementing H&S Function activities as directed. Ability to lead and support cross-functional process improvement teams Ability to act as an agent of change. Ability to communicate with clarity, impact and passion with all levels of the organization Strong organizational skills with ability to manage and track multiple projects to completion Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes Ability to demonstrate managerial courage
Salary Range:
$70,400 - $96,800
