The Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator supports the day-to-day coordination and administration of environmental, health, and safety programs by assisting with training delivery, maintaining EHS records and documentation, monitoring workplace hazards, and supporting compliance activities. Working closely with operations and leadership, this role helps ensure safe work practices, accurate reporting, and consistent execution of EHS requirements across the facility under the guidance of EHS or operational leadership.Primary Job Responsibilities:
EHS Program Administration & Compliance Support Coordinate day-to-day administration of core EHS programs, including HAZCOM, LOTO, PPE, AWAIR, and Machine Guarding. Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state/local regulations by maintaining documentation, coordinating required activities, and escalating issues to the EHS Manager as needed. Assist with translating regulatory and internal requirements into site procedures, forms, checklists, and training materials under the direction of the EHS Manager. Support regulatory inspections, audits, and internal assessments by preparing records and tracking corrective actions to completion. Environmental Compliance, Chemical Management & Monitoring Support environmental compliance activities related to air, stormwater, and waste, including: VOC and HAP emissions tracking, calculations, and documentation. Stormwater inspections, sampling, and reporting requirements. Hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling, labeling, documentation, and disposal coordination. Maintain required environmental records, logs, and reports for agencies such as MPCA and EPA. Assist with preparation of emissions inventories and permit-related reports by gathering data and maintaining supporting documentation. Maintain chemical inventory systems and ensure SDS accessibility, labeling, and storage requirements are met. Support tracking and documentation for regulated substances (including VOCs, HAPs, PFAS, as applicable). Coordinate environmental and exposure monitoring activities as needed, including air emissions testing, industrial hygiene sampling, and noise exposure/hearing conservation support. Hazard Identification, Incidents & Corrective Actions Participate in job hazard analyses and risk assessments across production, maintenance, and warehouse operations. Conduct routine inspections and field observations, document hazards and unsafe conditions. Support incident and near-miss investigations through documentation, data collection, and corrective action tracking. Maintain incident, near-miss, and corrective action logs and assist with trend analysis and reporting. Training, Safety Engagement & Emergency Preparedness Coordinate and assist with delivery of EHS training, including chemical safety, hazard communication, waste handling, and emergency response. Maintain accurate training records and ensure documentation is audit ready. Support safety engagement initiatives and employee reporting programs. Assist with development, communication, and maintenance of facility-specific emergency response and evacuation plans. Provide administrative and logistical support to the Safety Committee, including agendas, meeting notes, metrics, and action-item follow-up. EHS Systems, Data Management & Reporting Maintain EHS tracking systems related to audits, inspections, incidents, training, corrective actions, and environmental data. Prepare routine reports and summaries to support leadership visibility into EHS performance, compliance status, and trends. Ensure EHS records are organized, retained appropriately, and accessible for audits and inspections.Working Conditions:
Regular presence on production floor in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Exposure to noise, chemicals, moving equipment, and industrial processes Ability to walk, stand, and conduct inspections for extended periodsQualifications:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 1-3 years of experience in EHS, safety, or quality roles preferred; candidates with strong manufacturing experience and an interest in EHS are encouraged to apply. Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, or other workplace safety regulations is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment. Ability to assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring safety programs and procedures. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and support employees across all levels. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reporting, tracking, and documentation. Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn and grow in the EHS field. Ability to work collaboratively with the EHS Manager, production teams, and other departments to support a safe and compliant work environment. Professional certifications such as ASP orOSHA 10/30
