Job Description
GLO Resources is currently hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Officer in the Caruthersville, MO area. The pay rate is between $60,000 and $65,000 annually, depending on experience. The schedule is Monday - Friday on second shift. Position Summary The EHS Officer will support and administer environmental, health, and safety programs associated with company operations. The successful candidate will help promote a strong safety culture, assist in maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state, county, and local regulations, and contribute to achieving a zero-injury workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of plant-wide EHS programs in alignment with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. Provide day-to-day EHS support and guidance to employees, supervisors, and contractors. Conduct routine inspections, audits, and safety observations, and assist with corrective action follow-up. Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, including root cause analysis and documentation. Support emergency preparedness activities, drills, and response procedures. Monitor contractor compliance with site-specific safety requirements and company policies. Assist with environmental compliance activities, including permit requirements, reporting, and waste management programs. Maintain EHS records, reports, training documentation, and compliance tracking systems. Participate in safety committees and contribute to ongoing EHS initiatives and performance improvements. Perform additional EHS-related duties as assigned. Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Engineering, or related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in an EHS role within a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment preferred. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general environmental compliance requirements. Safety certifications (OSHA 30, ASP, CHST, or similar) preferred but not required. Self-motivated and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments. Familiarity with environmental and safety management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, VPP, etc.) preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Valid Driver's License. Must be willing to submit to a drug screen and background check.
Physical Requirements:
This position involves regular physical activity including: Standing and walking for prolonged periods. Ability to work in plant, warehouse, production, and non-production areas. Ability to tolerate high and low temperatures and loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.
