Job Description

Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Fire Suppression Technician and become a vital part of safeguarding communities through expert inspection, and maintenance of fire suppression systems. In this energetic role, you will utilize your technical skills and mechanical knowledge to ensure that fire suppression solutions operate flawlessly, providing peace of mind and safety for clients. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will drive success in system design, troubleshooting, and service delivery across diverse construction and field service environments. Duties Inspect commercial kitchen fire suppression systems in accordance with NFPA standards and local fire codes Perform routine maintenance on wet chemical kitchen suppression systems Conduct semi-annual inspections of restaurant fire suppression systems Test manual pull stations, gas shutoffs, micro switches, alarms, and detection lines Verify proper nozzle placement, cap installation, and appliance coverage Inspect fusible links and replace when required by code Check system tanks, cartridges, hoses, and piping for damage, leaks, or corrosion Ensure proper operation of automatic fuel and electrical shutoff devices Inspect kitchen exhaust hoods and duct systems for fire safety compliance Document inspection findings and complete detailed service reports Tag and label systems following inspection and maintenance procedures Identify deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to customers Maintain compliance with National Fire Protection Association standards, including NFPA 17A and NFPA 96 Communicate professionally with restaurant managers, fire marshals, and customers Maintain service vehicle inventory, tools, and replacement parts Follow safety procedures while working on ladders, rooftops, and around cooking equipment Assist with basic troubleshooting and minor repairs to suppression systems Schedule follow-up service appointments when deficiencies are found Maintain accurate inspection records for fire marshal and insurance requirements Requirements Experience working with commercial kitchen fire suppression systems preferred Knowledge of restaurant hood systems and kitchen exhaust operations Understanding of National Fire Protection Association standards including NFPA 17A and NFPA 96 Familiarity with fire suppression manufacturers such as Ansul, Pyro-Chem, Amerex, or Range Guard preferred Ability to identify system deficiencies and code violations Experience completing inspection reports and service documentation Fire suppression certification preferred or willing to obtain Kitchen hood/fire suppression inspection experience preferred OSHA safety training preferred Manufacturer certifications (Ansul, Amerex, Pyro-Chem, etc.) are a plus
Pay:
$30.00 - $33.00 per hour
