We're seeking a dedicated Safety Coordinator/Professional to champion our safety culture and ensure we meet and exceed compliance standards while protecting our Team Members and Trade Partners. Position Overview The Safety Coordinator/Professional plays a critical role in fostering a proactive safety culture across all Hankins Construction projects. You will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and leadership to implement and enforce safety policies, conduct site inspections, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for a hands-on, collaborative individual who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to make a tangible impact on the well-being of others. Key Responsibilities Site Safety Oversight Conduct regular and unannounced jobsite safety inspections and audits. Educate and Enforce OSHA regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. Stop work for any unsafe conditions and facilitate corrective actions. Training & Communication Lead safety orientation and toolbox talks for all employees and subcontractors. Develop and deliver ongoing training programs for crews and field staff. Serve as a knowledgeable and approachable point of contact for all safety concerns. Documentation & Compliance Maintain detailed records of inspections, incident reports, corrective actions, and training logs. Prepare and submit OSHA logs, safety reports, and compliance documentation as needed. Participate in internal and third-party audits. Incident Management Investigate accidents, near-misses, and safety concerns with thorough root cause analysis. Coordinate and support return-to-work programs and workers' compensation processes. Strategic Safety Leadership Work with leadership to develop and refine company-wide safety programs. Monitor trends in safety data to identify risks and propose strategic solutions. Represent Hankins Construction in safety meetings, industry events, and regulatory conversations. Required Qualifications Safety Coordinator 0-3 years of experience in construction safety; Safety Professional 3-5 years of experience in construction safety (commercial construction strongly preferred). OSHA 30 certification (OSHA 510/500 preferred). Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, ANSI guidelines, and relevant state regulations. Experience conducting safety audits, training sessions, and incident investigations. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety reporting software. Preferred Traits Certifications such as CHST, CSP, or other construction-related safety credentials. Familiarity with EMR tracking, site-specific safety plans, and risk assessments. Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus. Why Join Hankins Construction?
