We are looking for a Safety Professional to serve as a partner with our operations teams, emphasizing proactive safety practices. The Division Safety Lead will collaborate with operations personnel to integrate Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security into all activities and decision-making processes at assigned locations with a focus on: Prevention of vehicle accidents and work-related injuries Investigation of all vehicle accidents and work-related injuries Compliance with company policies, procedures, and agency regulations Construction safety management Transportation safety management Location security management Monitor and analyze safety performance Provide communication to Operations' Leadership regarding performance status and make recommendations for improvement Monitor effectiveness of performance improvement efforts, with emphasis on both leading and trailing indicators Provide regulatory interpretations and updates, support for Operations' Leadership. Provide effective safety training, including new hire orientation, safety alerts, and job-specific certifications Provide after-hours coverage for safety-related events such as accidents, injuries, etc. Other projects assigned by Director of Safety and Division Manager. Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (Preferred) Three years of safety management experience, preferably in construction, ready mix, or heavy manufacturing Authorized OSHA Construction or General Industry Outreach Trainer (preferred) Comprehensive knowledge of DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations and requirements Comprehensive knowledge of basic safety management techniques Effective communication skills, written and verbal Effective team building skills Ability to manage multiple projects, establish priorities, and accomplish goals & objectives Proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word Analytical and problem-solving skills Regular, predictable, attendance is an essential function of the job Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, includes some weekends, nights, and holidays Willingness to be on call 24 hours per day
