Job Description

Education:
Associate's Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field (highly preferred)
Experience:
Must be able to operate company-owned vehicle (valid driver's license required) Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) 1-3+ years of experience — targeting candidates newly certified and looking to start their career Background in environmental science, EHS, or safety Self-starter, ambitious, and follows safety principles
DOT RCRA
certified Knowledge of federal, state, and local hazardous material regulations Basic understanding of chemistry and chemical properties for proper waste segregation Comfortable using systems to track data, maintain records, and generate reports Strong written and verbal communication skills Key Responsibilities Collect, segregate, and manage hazardous chemical waste generated throughout the university, hospital, clinics, and research labs Support management of hazardous pharmaceutical, radiological, and universal waste Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, NRC, and RCRA regulations Communicate with leadership on policies and procedures to maintain compliance Lift up to 50 lbs. and handle 400 lb. drums Wear respiratory protection and PPE as required Work in a range of environments, including potentially hazardous (IDLH) conditions and physically uncomfortable settings (e.g., high heat)
Pay:
$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
