Direct Hire Overview We are seeking an experienced EHS Consultant to serve as an on-site safety leader supporting client projects. In this role, you will be embedded within the client environment, ensuring that all work is executed safely, compliantly, and in alignment with project HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) standards. You will play a critical role in promoting a strong safety culture, preventing incidents, and driving continuous improvement while partnering closely with field leadership, craft teams, and other contractors. Beyond site safety leadership, you will also contribute to client relationships, project planning, and business growth initiatives—helping deliver high-quality, value-driven outcomes. Key Responsibilities Safety & Compliance Leadership Lead implementation and adherence to the project HSE Plan Ensure all work activities comply with regulatory requirements and site procedures Review and enforce work permits (e.g., hot work, confined space, LOTO) Participate in and support HSE audits and safety initiatives Workforce Readiness & Planning Review qualifications of craft personnel and supervisors to ensure compliance Develop and review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Safe Plan of Action (SPA) documentation Ensure teams are properly trained, equipped, and supervised Verify appropriate PPE usage and equipment inspections Maintain visibility into upcoming work to ensure proper planning and execution Field Engagement & Leadership Spend the majority of time in the field supporting and coaching teams Partner with contractors and client stakeholders to ensure safe, coordinated work execution Conduct regular safety assessments and provide actionable feedback Promote a culture of respect, accountability, and proactive safety engagement Encourage reporting of safety observations and continuous improvement ideas Incident Management Ensure emergency preparedness across all work teams Lead or support incident reporting and investigations Ensure proper documentation and preservation of incident scenes Participate in all required site safety meetings and follow-ups Project Ownership & Client Engagement Support project planning, scope management, and execution Work closely with project managers to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget Identify process inefficiencies, compliance risks, and improvement opportunities Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities to expand services Contribute to project documentation, reporting, and account planning What You Bring Required Qualifications 5-10 years of on-site EHS experience in construction or industrial environments Strong working knowledge of: Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) Work permits and safety procedures Incident investigation and hazard controls Proven ability to coach teams and lead safety initiatives in the field Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) Technical & Industry Experience (Preferred) Experience with GMP, GxP, or regulated environments Familiarity with calibration and maintenance programs Understanding ofCMMS/CCMS
systems and validation processes Ability to develop SOPs, reports, and process documentation Certifications (Preferred) OSHA 30 (Construction or General Industry) CHST, CSP, ASP, OHST, STSC, NEBOSH, or similar Competent Person certifications (e.g., Fall Protection, Confined Space) First Aid/CPR/AEDSimilar jobs in Raleigh, NC
