Safety & Facilities Duties (Brief description of the principal task involved): Performs Environmental, Health and safety activities in Plant to evaluate and control environmental hazards by implementing and Monitoring Activities to ensure compliance with Company and Government Environmental, Health and Safety, regulations. Description of activities The holder of the position Key Responsibility Maintain and implement safety programs that comply with federal, state and local safety laws. They also analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of safety-related problems and develop recommendations for improvement. Conducting routine safety checks and inspections to ensure that all standards are met and the working environment is safe and secure is a key part of an EHS specialist's job. EHS specialists is to educate employees about health and safety regulations and precautions. This involves creating safety awareness training programs and modules. Documention of testing, test results, and any type of investigation and any related record keeping requirments
Enviornmental:
Monitoring of utilities, process requirements, water samples Maintenance of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) including database input for all required chemicals used at facility. Assist in the completion of compliance reporting. Monitoring and auditing to ensuring compliance of
ISO 14001
Environmental Program. Waste management area, outgoing recycling materials such as chips, cardboard, pallets. Also responsible for ensuring all non-recyclable materials are stored properly, labels maintained to identify products and ensure there is no release into the environment. Emergency Spill kits inside production areas. Safety Tests noise levels and measures air quality. Coordination of hearing tests to employees (if required) Coordinates forklift training of operators to qualify for licensing. Oversee OSHA Forklift Safety Inspection requirement program. Train or assist in training employees on OSHA Safety and Health requirements to ensure compliance with regulations. Update safety boards and monitors for health and safety violations. Train, monitor and issue Hot work permits, confined space entries, and lockout/tag out permits. Monitoring and auditing Safety compliance. Assist with accident and incident investigations Assist with Safety Influencer/Committee and ensure requirements are met. Assist in writing and distribution of needed safety and/or environmental Alerts.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position requires work both office setting and in a manaufacturing production setting that is not temperature controlled. There is also outdoor work which will be require walking up and down hills through trees and shurbs. While performing the duties of this position, the employee must comply with all safety regulations and proper operating procedures, always utilizing required safety equipment. Employees are obligated to leave the workplace in a clean and orderly manner. Responsible for identifying Environmental Aspects for his/her department, and supporting Environmental Management Plan (EMP) goals and targets through training, engagement and communication. This role is crucial in fostering a safe and compliant workplace, ultimately contributing to the overall efficiency and sustainability of manufacturing operations.
Education/Professional Requirements:
Minimum AA or AS degree, Previous experience in Manufacturing Environments Industrial Safety Certification Preferred but not required Required proficiency and additional qualification:
Industrial Safety Microsoft Office Tools:
Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Experience using SAP Preferred the ability to learn data base entry
