Job Description
EHS, Facilities and Compliance Specialist Job Summary :
This role is responsible for administering environmental, health and safety programs, site security, facilities related matters as well as compliance related matters for the site. This role works closely with the Site Leader and Human Resources to ensure the site is set up for success. This role requires self-motivation, a positive, professional attitude and a solid technical background. This is a hands-on role with the drive to promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.Regular duties:
Regular on-site attendance/punctuality is a necessary function of this position. Interface with global EHS and administer all aspects of site safety, health and environment including, but not limited to engagement with local authorities, develop EHS education programs and train employees. Report on and address workplace incidents, workplace inspections, PPE program, risk/hazard inspections and emergency response and preparedness. Work with the Office Administrator on site matters such as badge/key access, trash/waste/dumpsters, building maintenance and other facilities related matters. Oversee the Safety Committee meetings, coordinate the training or train on first aid/CPR. Work with Human Resources on workers' compensation matters and complete required OSHA reporting. Ensure all records, documents of compliance exist (permits, training records, workplace inspections, safety committee meeting minutes, etc.) Adhere to global security standards and meeting customer security requirements. Stay up to date on and ensure site compliance with electronics recycling certifications (NAID, eStewards, etc.) as well as OSHA and EPA regulations. Ensure the site is complying with FMCSA Commercial Motor Vehicle regulations to include documentation, driver files, vehicle maintenance, etc. Other job-related tasks as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, Competencies :
Solid understanding and experience with environmental, health and safety requirements of manufacturing and warehouse operations. Solid understanding of local, state, federal OSHA requirements and environmental regulations and apply them to the site. Effective interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environment. Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to think analytically. Proficient in basic math. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, including the creation of presentations and being comfortable presenting to a group. Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency. Certified Safety Professional certification would be a benefit.Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to and adhere to safely "team lift" anything above 50 pounds. Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas. Duties of this position are performed in both an office environment as well as a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to elements such as noise, dust, chemicals, operating machinery, temperature extremes, etc. Duties may require periodic sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Standing, sitting, stooping/squatting and walking can be expected along with reaching with hands and arms and undergoing repetitive wrist, hand, elbow, shoulder and ankle motions. Above demands are carried out within the local existing Health and Safety guidelines.Experience and Education Requirements :
No less than two years' work experience in a warehouse, distribution or manufacturing setting in an EHS or Compliance role. Hands-on experience / knowledge of equipment in a manufacturing setting is strongly preferred. Forklift, lithium batteries, lifting mechanical devices, etc. Must be able to read and understand written and verbal instructions in English. Bachelor's degree in an Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Health and Safety program strongly preferred, or associate's degree in relevant field with four years' work experience in a warehouse, distribution or manufacturing setting in an EHS or compliance role, or six or more years' work experience in a warehouse, distribution or manufacturing setting in an EHS or compliance role.Benefits:
