Role Description The role will support the safety team on active construction and maintenance projects. The intern will assist with daily site safety inspections, help identify potential hazards, and support the implementation of safety procedures in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include helping collect and organize safety data, participating in incident and near-miss reporting, and assisting in accident investigations under supervision. The Safety Intern will also support the preparation and delivery of safety training materials, toolbox talks, and safety communications for field teams. This role involves frequent interaction with project managers, supervisors, and field personnel to reinforce a strong safety culture and ensure compliance on job sites. Qualifications Knowledge or coursework in Health & Safety, Occupational Health, and Environment Health and Safety (EHS), with a strong interest in construction or industrial safety. Ability to support Safety Training initiatives, including preparing materials, assisting with presentations, and reinforcing safety policies with field teams. Interest and foundational skills in Accident Investigation, including gathering facts, documenting findings, and assisting with corrective action follow-up. Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or certificate in Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Strong observation, documentation, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in reporting. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization. Willingness to work on active job sites, follow all safety requirements, and travel locally to project locations as needed. Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office or similar tools) for reporting, tracking, and communication.
Pay:
$15.00 - $25.00 per hour
