Onsite Pay Rate Range:
$65.00/hr.•$79.32/hr. EH&S Specialist Our Client is looking for a stand-out EHS Specialist who will be focused on providing technical support and EHS leadership to the Mahwah site. You will be seen as a subject matter expert (SME) and a key contributor to the EHS strategy. This role mentors and support the site to ensure the delivery of EHS strategy and processes that meet business needs.
What you will do:
Maintenance of EHS management system in line with internal and regulatory requirements ensuring procedures and other documents are kept up to date Preparation and delivery of training including induction and job-specific EHS topics Conducts regular EHS inspections and audits to monitor the effectiveness of the EHS management system and highlight any areas for attention/action Preparation of EHS reports/metrics for both internal and external stakeholders Leads the Emergency Response program ensuring the procedures, resources and training are in place to deal with all likely emergency scenarios on site Ensures a robust EHS incident investigation process is in place. Monitors incident trends identifying areas requiring action. Leads investigations as necessary Assesses the EHS impact of proposed changes to plant, process, equipment etc. and identifies actions to ensure compliance and risk control Ensures effective risk assessment and risk reduction programs are in place for the site Monitors EHS legislation ensuring site compliance with current and future requirements as necessary Maintains waste management requirements and environmental monitoring programs in line with DEP and EPA regulations Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste activities, ensuring documentation. Leads EHS projects on site Mahwah Campus and supports cross-functional teams Collaborates with site leadership to ensure alignment on priority EHS issues and plans to address same Promotes and supports a culture of accountability and collaboration in relation to safety and environmental performance and expectations Conduct regular site tours to address safety risks.
What you need:
Bachelor's Degree in EHS Management or equivalent (Mechanic, Engineering, EHS). 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment 3+ years in EH&S experience, in manufacturing settings, with a focus on Risk Assessment, SARA Title
III, OSHA
Compliance, and Emergency Response. Familiar with
ISO 45001
requirements and implementation Proven stakeholder management skills and ability to influence at all levels
Preferred Certifications:
First Aid, CPR, 24-hour Hazardous Materials Technician, 8-hour Incident Command, and medical clearance to wear a respirator. Familiar with Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, Risk Control, Root Cause Analysis, and Process Safety Management. Advanced Microsoft Office skills e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. Excellent communication, problem-solving, time management and organizational skills Expert technical decision maker No supervisor responsibilities but may deputize for the leader in their absence Champions breakthrough solutions that support our mission, strategy and goals of Stryker Shows agility and flexibility in responding to new or rapidly changing situations.
