Job Description

Safety Technician Oil & Gas Industry 2+ Years of Experience Professional Summary Experienced Safety Technician with over two years of experience supporting safe operations in the oil and gas industry. Skilled in implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, facilitating safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and company standards. Dedicated to promoting a strong safety culture, identifying hazards, and reducing workplace incidents through proactive risk management and employee engagement. Key Responsibilities Conduct routine safety inspections and job site audits to ensure compliance with OSHA, client, and company safety standards. Perform Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and participate in pre-job planning meetings to identify and mitigate workplace hazards. Lead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and new hire safety orientations. Monitor field operations to ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices. Investigate incidents, near misses, and property damage events, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions. Maintain accurate safety documentation, including inspection reports, incident reports, training records, and regulatory compliance records. Assist with emergency response planning, drills, and evacuation procedures. Support permit-to-work processes, including hot work, confined space entry, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and excavation permits. Ensure compliance with customer-specific safety requirements and environmental regulations. Work closely with supervisors, field personnel, and contractors to promote continuous safety improvement. Conduct safety observations and behavioral-based safety audits. Assist with environmental compliance, spill prevention, and waste management procedures. Monitor equipment, fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, first aid kits, and emergency response equipment to ensure readiness. Encourage a positive safety culture by coaching employees and recognizing safe work behaviors.
