Job Description

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) Specialist ensures compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations at the Saguaro Power Company (90 MW capacity) a power plant. Responsibilities include environmental monitoring, reporting, training, audits, and supporting site safety programs. The role interfaces with internal teams and regulatory agencies to ensure ongoing environmental compliance and operational integrity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Environmental Compliance Maintain and update programs related to air, water, and solid waste compliance, including but not limited to the QAQC Plan, SPCC Plan, PSM/RMP, and Waste Management Plan. Coordinate and conduct required sampling, testing, and reporting. Track and implement changes in environmental regulations. Prepare regulatory reports and renew environmental permits, business/agency plans, including but not limited to EPA (ECMPS, CAMD, e-GGRT, RMP, RCRA, NPDES), State of Nevada (Title V, NDEP, NDOW, CAPP, Tier II, State Fire Marshal Hazardous Materials permit, and OSHA. Escort regulatory inspectors, coordinate/facilitate inspections, manage corrective actions, and complete associate reporting. Health and Safety Oversight Coordinate and administer safety training programs. Track safety compliance and training schedules. Lead facility health and safety programs, including hazard assessment, incident investigations, emergency response, and the facility safety committee. Training & Communication Develop and deliver EH&S compliance training to plant personnel. Promote awareness and accountability for EH&S policies. Provide updates and recommendations to plant management and corporate teams. Audits & Inspections Lead and perform internal inspection programs to proactively identify compliance issues. Coordinate/support internal and external audits. Maintain detailed records in the facility EHS management systems. Documentation & Procedures Manage and maintain site environmental records and manuals. Update documentation as required by operational or regulatory changes. 5+ years in environmental compliance/engineering (energy industry preferred). Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance practices. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency within Microsoft Suite Software (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Ability to lift 50 lbs and wear PPE as required. Work Environment Combination of office and on-site power plant settings. Includes outdoor work, exposure to temperature/noise extremes, and occasional work at heights. Must be able to climb, kneel, lift, and access plant equipment. May require after-hours support. May require occasional travel to other facilities. May require other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record, as this position requires occasional travel for company business. Candidates should be comfortable operating a vehicle as part of their job responsibilities and must meet any applicable company and insurance requirements. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, and relevant qualifications. This range represents the base salary and does not include other forms of compensation, such as bonuses, benefits, or equity, which may be offered in addition to the base pay.
