//www.jhkelly.com/ Check out our job openings here: www.jhkelly.com/open-positions/ What You'll Do As our Safety Professional, you'll drive company-wide Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and cultivating a proactive safety culture. You'll work closely with management, employees, and a safety committee to identify hazards, deliver training, and respond to incidents with precision and care. This role is based in Boise, ID, with occasional travel to other JH Kelly locations.
Pay Range:
$30-$50 per hour (DOE), FLSA non-exempt (OT eligible) Here's a deeper dive into what you'll take on:
Program Management :
Implement and maintain EHS programs and policies compliant with OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
Inspections & Audits :
Conduct regular facility inspections and audits, identify hazards, and recommend corrective actions to ensure compliance and safety.
Training & Development :
Lead safety training sessions, including new-hire orientation, emergency response, and hazard communication, to empower employees.
Incident Investigation :
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
Data & Reporting :
Track safety metrics, maintain accurate records, and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies.
Collaboration & Culture :
Partner with department leaders and the safety committee to promote a culture of safety awareness and environmental stewardship.
Continuous Improvement :
Stay current with EHS trends and regulations to drive ongoing enhancements in safety practices.
What You Bring Experience :
2-3 years in an EHS role, preferably in construction environments. Mechanical systems experience is a plus.
Education :
Degree in Safety Management or related field preferred, or equivalent experience. OSHA 30-hour, 510, or 500 certification required. CHST or ASP certifications are highly desirable. First Aid/CPR certification required.
Skills :
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Acute attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Thorough understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Ability to apply regulations to field construction settings.
Other :
Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Physical Requirements This role involves transitioning between office and construction field settings. In the office, you'll sit for extended periods, working at a computer and communicating by phone. In the field, you'll stand and walk on uneven terrain, climb stairs and ladders, kneel, crouch, and crawl to inspect tight spaces, and lift up to 40 pounds. Good vision and hearing are essential for reading plans and on-site communication. You'll work in various weather conditions, wear PPE (hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed boots), and travel between job sites as needed.
