Key accountabilities:
Support Site EHS Manager The EHS Safety Specialist has the authority to stop work when unsafe conditions, behaviors, or non‑compliance are identified; require corrective and preventive actions; and escalate unresolved issues to site leadership. Track and monitor EHS objectives including site KPI's. If failure to meet target objectives are identified, then create and implement a corrective action plan.
Conduct and review Risk Assessments supporting site operations and develop and recommend appropriate risk management strategies including proper measures to mitigate risks (eliminate or render acceptable).
Provide weekly Environment, Health, and Safety oversight of Track and Guideway projects, including participation in field walks, review of work activities, verification of compliance with approved work plans, and identification of safety risks. Ensure findings are documented, corrective actions are assigned, and follow‑up is completed in coordination with Operations, Maintenance, and Project teams.
Confirm proper documentation of compliance activities for reference purposes, ensure that Alstom EHS standards and tools (AZDP, TOP_E, Transport Key processes) are deployed at the site level.
Support all customer and Alstom internal audits to include follow-up and implementation of preventive measures.
Establish, implement and maintain emergency plans.
Review and update Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) annually and assist with the drafting and hosting of site-wide annual emergency drill.
Enhanced Performance Metrics:
Performance indicators include incident trends, audit and inspection results, corrective action closure rates, documentation accuracy, training compliance, and environmental performance metrics..
Identify and recommend potential incorporation of best practices.
Serve as lead investigator for all safety violations, incidents and accidents. Solicit subject matter support to develop root cause investigation reporting.
Support 24/7 coverage as required. EHS Compliance Ensure compliance of site activities according to the EHS Plan, guidelines, and work instructions.
Prepare and present Alstom management with compliance reports. Identify trends and present performance improvement data to make informed business decisions.
Provide input into drafting implement programs/policies helpful in ensuring compliance with Alstom, government, and legal regulations.
Develop, deploy and maintain local procedures and tools and ensure they are aligned with Alstom and international Standards (ISO 14001 and
ISO45001
). Develop EHS culture in the Site Inform, instruct and train employees to perform all tasks in a safe & environment-friendly mode aligned with project Method Statements.
Participate in implementing site EHS training programs by providing EHS inductions and ensuring Tool Box meetings are organized.
Provide training to educate company staff on essential compliance to prevent injury, damage to plant and equipment, fire, environmental pollution. Report, Measure & Review Support the EHS Site Manager to capture, report, record, investigate and analyze accidents/incidents to implement corrective and preventive actions. Support the preparation of monthly EHS reports. Can be in charge of feeding EHS Teranga reporting system in line with Group reporting requirements and under control by Site EHS manager.
Carry out inspections of work areas and carry out EHS audits and report any discrepancies.

EDUCATION
Mandatory:
Two years of college education
Health & Safety Qualification recognized by the enforcing authorities in the country of operation
Desirable:
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certificate
Bachelor's degree
EXPERIENCE
Mandatory:
Two years of administrative experience in the industry
One year of experience with presenting and tracking training material
Experience in Environment, Health & Safety actions and activities
Familiarity with
ISO14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO45001
Comprehensive understanding of local legal EHS requirements
Desirable:
Experience with rail industry a plus
Five years professional experience

Salary:
