JOB SUMMARY
This position will be responsible to assist in the administration of the company's electrical safety program. This will include organizing the electrical safety program for Electric Power Generation Service Technician; conducting and/or supporting various electrical safety classes (example, NFPA-70E); developing criteria and evaluating Service Technician qualifications to work on various equipment; managing the inventory of specialized PPE and the vendors; assisting the Safety and Environmental Department with in-store and in-field inspections; training Service Technicians on how to complete electrical safety JSA's (Jobsite Safety Analysis)/inspections; and conducting annual observations.
COMPETENCIES
Must be able to evaluate and research training options and alternatives and lead and/or assist in the development of electrical safety training. Strong verbal and written communication skills, time management skills, organizational skills, planning, listening, problem solving/decision making skills Individual must have the ability to work with others internally and externally to help achieve the company's safety and environmental goals Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related program software.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
​Minimum 5 years' experience as an Electrical Power Generator Service Technician or similar role or experience in Environmental, Health and Safety Field with 5 years of electrical safety background. Must be willing to travel frequently throughout the Ohio Machinery Co. territory with overnight travel required. Must possess a valid driver's license that meets company standards for safe driving. Must be agreeable to participate in the company's vehicle reimbursement program (Motus).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will have a combination of tasks assigned in the office, Service shop, training room and in the field (outside and within customer locations). The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible. Employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
