Monday-Friday | 40 hrs/week Project Scope Seeking an experienced Site SafetyHealth Officer (SSHO) to oversee all site safety activities for a General Contractor on a new construction project at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The SSHO will be responsible for ensuring compliance with
EM 385-1-1, USACE
requirements, and all applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations. Qualifications

Certification 24-Hour Competent Person Fall Protection Training (per EM 385 requirements) Current OSHA 30-Hour Certification One of the following: BCSP Certification (CHST, ASP, CSP, etc.), OR 15+ Years of SSHO Experience, OR Four-Year Degree and 5+ Years of SSHO Experience Current CPR/First Aid Certification Key Responsibilities Conduct regular SSHO audits, inspections, and risk assessments. Complete safety reporting through RMS and submit required documentation and RFIs to USACE. Support incident investigations, reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. Deliver site-specific safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks for employees, subcontractors, and new hires. Collaborate with project teams to proactively identify, evaluate, and mitigate workplace hazards. Maintain accurate safety records, training documentation, inspection reports, and compliance records. Monitor compliance with
EM 385-1-1, OSHA
standards, and project-specific safety requirements. Promote and reinforce a safety-first culture across all levels of the project team. SkillsKnowledge Skills Strong public speaking and communication abilities. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel). Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a construction environment. Professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information and project documentation. Knowledge Thorough understanding of
EM 385-1-1
requirements. Knowledge of USACE safety programs, procedures, and documentation requirements. Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices. Ability to effectively communicate safety expectations and enforce compliance. Experience supporting safety programs on federal and military construction projects preferred.
