Day ShiftProject Scope This position supports a general industry manufacturing facility in Fremont, OH, providing on-site Environmental, HealthSafety (EHS) leadership and execution. The EHS Manager will be responsible for driving compliance with OSHA general industry regulations while aligning site-level EHS strategies with corporate objectives and operating principles. The role requires a hands-on presence across the manufacturing floor, partnering with operations and corporate stakeholders to implement EHS management systems, deliver training, and sustain regulatory compliance. The EHS Manager will leverage leading and lagging KPI metrics to improve performance and advance a best-in-class safety culture focused on a zero-incident mindset. This assignment also involves incident communication and collaboration with Heinz Legal and Communications, Workers' Compensation coordination as needed, and continuous improvement of EHS processes, tools, and programs to ensure audit-ready performance.Qualifications
OSHA 511
5+ years of EHS experience in a general industry manufacturing environment Walking-Working Surfaces (Subpart D): fall protection and housekeeping Personal Protective Equipment (Subpart I): eye, face, hand, and head protection requirements Hazard Communication (1910.1200): chemical hazard training and SDS access Lockout/Tagout (1910.147): hazardous energy control procedures Electrical (Subpart S): electrical systems and equipment safety requirements 1910.151: medical services and first aidAdditional Requirements Ability to work onsite in Fremont, OH Local candidates strongly encouraged (no per diem available) Availability to work a 40-hour, Monday-Friday schedule for the full 6-month duration Ability to communicate EHS performance and initiatives to stakeholders at all organizational levelsKey Responsibilities Own and execute EHS strategies aligned with corporate objectives and aspirations Utilize leading and lagging KPI metrics to drive EHS performance Report and communicate EHS results, key initiatives, and action plans to stakeholders at all levels Partner with Heinz Legal and Communications regarding incidents impacting people, plant, or brands Monitor applicable EHS legislation and practices impacting the facility Develop and manage the EHS department financial budget Engage and enroll shopfloor and corporate teams in the EHS journey Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, processes, and operating principles Revise and evolve EHS policies and procedures as needed Drive continuous improvement toward best-in-class performance and a zero-incident culture Implement EHS Management Systems and Best Practices Provide EHS training to staff and employees Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations Develop and maintain processes and tools to sustain regulatory compliance Facilitate the Workers' Compensation process when required Benchmark internal and external best practices and apply learnings to site operations Skills EHS program ownership, OSHA general industry compliance, KPI tracking and reporting, incident communication, safety training, EHS management systems, regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, stakeholder engagement, Workers' Compensation coordinationKnowledge Base Strong working knowledge of OSHA general industry standards, including fall protection, PPE, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, electrical safety, and first aid/medical services.
