Job Overview :
If you're looking for an opportunity to do more than support EHS — if you want to influence it, improve it, and leave your mark on a manufacturing site — this role offers exactly that. As the EHS Specialist, you'll take ownership of key environmental, health, and safety activities for the plant, balancing hands-on floor presence with the coordination of training, reporting, compliance administration, occupational health support, visitor controls, purchasing, stock control, business continuity, and improvement projects. You'll be a trusted partner to plant leadership and a visible resource to employees, helping drive solutions, support safe operations, and review safety considerations tied to projects, contractors, equipment changes, and other plant initiatives. This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, builds credibility on the shop floor, and wants the visibility, influence, and growth opportunity to help elevate EHS performance across the site.
Responsibilities:
Implement and enforce company EHS policies and standard work across assigned facilities by developing site-specific EHS policies, procedures, and programs, including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, PPE, and emergency response. Ensure compliance with company EHS requirements, standard work, and applicable local laws and regulations through routine facility audits, inspections, and follow-up actions. Manage activities that support compliance with critical EHS programs while helping build and sustain a strong EHS culture. Identify and implement EHS best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives across assigned sites. Manage EHS data entry and reporting within GenSuite, while tracking, maintaining, and organizing all safety and compliance documentation. Track site performance against EHS key performance indicators, using both leading and lagging indicators to monitor performance and identify opportunities for improvement. Conduct incident investigations to identify contributing factors, determine root cause, and implement appropriate actions to prevent recurrence. Monitor workplace safety performance and support ongoing safety and operational improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED 3+ years of environmental, health, and safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, supporting site-level EHS activities in a fast-paced plant setting. 3+ years of experience supporting EHS reporting, recordkeeping, and data tracking, including use of EHS systems or similar reporting tools. 3+ years of working knowledge of OSHA regulations and practical EHS application. 2+ years of demonstrated ability building relationships and credibility across all levels of an organization, ideally with shop floor employees. 2+ years of experience handling corrective actions, safety improvements, and practical solutions in response to manufacturing environment issues.

Expertise Solid OSHA foundation and practical EHS knowledge, with the ability to serve as the site resource for OSHA, code, and day-to-day EHS matters. Environmental Awareness Basic to moderate environmental knowledge in SDSs, chemical management, and hazardous/non-hazardous waste exposure.
Manufacturing / Plant
Safety Support Experience supporting EHS in a manufacturing or plant environment where safety, production, and operational continuity must work together. Site-Level EHS Ownership & Reporting Comfort owning tactical site-level EHS responsibilities, including monthly reporting, recordkeeping, training support, data tracking, and use of EHS/reporting systems. Bias for Action & Corrective Action Follow-Through Ability to respond quickly to daily safety issues, drive corrective actions, solve problems, and move practical safety improvements forward. Cross-Functional Partnership Ability to work effectively with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, and site leadership on plant projects, equipment moves, contractor review, and broader site decisions.

US Citizen or Perm Resident Pay Range The base pay range for this role is $45,000 - $55,000 annually. The pay range considers a wide range of factors that include a candidate's skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and geographic location.
