We are seeking a hands-on Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support safety, compliance, and environmental programs within a dynamic manufacturing environment. In this role, you will be a partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure safe work practices, reduce risk, and strengthen safety culture across the facility. This is a position where you can lead safety initiatives, influence culture, and make a real impact .What You'll Do:
Safety & Regulatory Compliance:
Support and maintain the Pretium Packaging EHS program in compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across manufacturing operations Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses to determine root cause and implement corrective actions Maintain OSHA logs, safety documentation, and compliance records Report current/potential issues to the plant leadership and provide potential solutionsEnvironmental Programs:
Support environmental programs including waste management, emissions, stormwater, and chemical handling Monitor hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling and storage Assist with environmental inspections and regulatory reportingSafety Training & Culture:
Deliver safety training including: Lockout/Tagout PPE and hazard communication Machine guarding Ergonomics and emergency response Engage employees in safety initiatives, committees, and continuous improvement effortsRisk Reduction & Continuous Improvement:
Partner with operations to identify hazards associated with: Plastics processing equipment Robotics and automation Compressed air systems Material handling and resins Support implementation of engineering and administrative safety controls Track safety metrics and support improvement initiativesEmergency Preparedness:
Assist with emergency response planning including: Fire safety Evacuation procedures Spill response Medical emergency coordination Support drills and emergency response teams You will Be aGood Fit If You Have:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred 2+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing Experience in plastics, injection molding, blow molding, or industrial manufacturing is strongly preferred OSHA 30 Certification preferred Certifications (Preferred): CHST, ASP, or other professional safety certification First Aid / CPR /AED Key Skills:
Bilingual - the ability to speak Spanish is preferred Strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental compliance Experience investigating incidents and performing root cause analysis Ability to influence employees and leadership to drive safe work practices Strong documentation and organizational skills Proficiency withMicrosoft Office Why This Role Matters:
