Job Description

Student Transportation of America (STA) is a trusted leader in school bus transportation services, dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and punctual transit for students across communities. We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Assistant Operations Manager to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will support the daily operations of our transportation services, ensuring safety standards are met, routes run smoothly, and customer satisfaction remains high. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop leadership skills while making a meaningful impact on students' daily journeys. Assist in coordinating daily transportation operations to ensure on-time performance and safety compliance Support route planning and driver scheduling to optimize efficiency and service delivery Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and ensure adherence to safety protocols Collaborate with drivers, dispatchers, and maintenance teams to resolve operational issues promptly Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of vehicles and facilities Maintain accurate records of routes, incidents, and operational logs Support training initiatives for drivers and staff to uphold safety standards and company policies Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders Ability to analyze operational data and identify areas for improvement Knowledge of transportation safety regulations and compliance standards Leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving Proficiency in basic computer applications such as MS Office or transportation management software Prior experience in transportation or logistics is preferred but not required Join us as an Assistant Operations Manager and be part of a dedicated team committed to safe student transportation while advancing your career in a supportive environment.
