Job Description

Job Summary This role serves as a strategic and tactical specialist for all safety processes including audits, assessments, training, and legal compliance. Provides support and consultation to the department leaders and team members. Essential Job Functions The essential duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Provides safety leadership and direction to the operations to ensure consistent delivery of safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs workplace safety / risk assessments and assists leadership with implementation of improvement suggestions.
  • Perform and provide new hire and ongoing safety training sessions to maintain safety/OSHA compliance.
  • Lead monthly safety meetings and ensure all required documentation is up to date and compliant with
OSHA, PA
Certified Safety Committee, as well as any other state requirements and company policy.
  • Conducts and document monthly facility safety inspections providing corrective action when necessary. Ensure corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Facilitate accident investigations, prepare incident and accident reports as well as work with management to determine root cause.
  • In conjunction with Human Resources, manage workers compensation claims and modified duty tasks for employees.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations.
  • Report any damages to company property.
  • Report any animal welfare related issues to management immediately.
  • Report any damages to company vehicles and equipment via eMaintenance work order program.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures. Minimum Required Qualifications The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • AA or BS/BA degree in related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of equivalent safety experience in a manufacturing/production facility required; poultry facility preferred.
  • OSHA 30, preferred.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to independently make decisions with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize workload.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food process equipment.
  • Advanced personal computer skills: Working knowledge of Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to comply with all company policies and procedures. Physical Demands The physical requirements/environmental factors for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Must be able to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance and 100 with assistance.
  • Must be able to walk production floor and warehouse building.
  • Conditions of production floor and warehouse maybe cold, wet, loud and PPE is required.
  • Must be able to climb and work on ladders.
Schedule:
6am-3:30pm winter hours and 8-5pm for Summer hours (Monday - Friday)

$17.00 - $22.00 per hour
