Utility Position Souderton, PA 10 Apr 2026 22487293 Summary Souderton, PA In-Person Competitive Salary 1 Years Experience High school graduate or equivalency certificate (GED) No Commission 40.00 hours per week / Day Shift / Full-Time Description Immediate interviews on the following dates: Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026: 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm - Souderton location: 266 W. Cherry Lane Leidy's is looking to hire a Utility Worker in an entry-level role responsible for supporting daily production and sanitation activities across the meat processing facility. This role performs a variety of tasks—including general labor, cleaning, product handling, and assisting production teams—to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient operation. The Utility employee helps maintain product integrity, follows all food safety and workplace safety requirements, and supports continuous workflow throughout the plant.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Support
  • Assist with basic production tasks including loading, packing, sorting, and staging meat products.
  • Supply production lines with materials such as boxes, labels, ingredients, or packaging supplies.
  • Move raw materials and finished goods using carts, totes, or pallet jacks (manual or electric, if trained).
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure product quality and consistency. Sanitation & Cleaning
  • Clean work areas, equipment, tools, and floors throughout the shift to maintain sanitary conditions.
  • Dispose of waste, inedible material, and packaging according to company and USDA guidelines.
  • Assist sanitation team during pre-op, mid-shift, or end-of-day cleanup as required.
  • Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals and PPE. Food Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all company food safety policies, including GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices), hygiene guidelines, and allergen control.
  • Report any product quality or food safety concerns to leadership immediately.
  • Maintain compliance with USDA regulations and facility HACCP programs.
  • Participate in required training sessions related to food safety, workplace safety, and equipment operation. General Labor Tasks
  • Perform basic tasks such as trimming, weighing, labeling, or assembling product components.
  • Palletize, wrap, and prepare finished goods for storage or shipment.
  • Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation.
  • Support any department in the facility as assigned (fabrication, grinding, packaging, shipping, sanitation, etc.
).
Qualifications:
  • Ability to work in cold, damp, and fast-paced production environments.
  • Ability to lift 30-50 lbs repeatedly and stand for long periods.
  • Willingness to follow safety rules, food safety requirements, and company policies.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability; must maintain good attendance.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with diverse coworkers.
