Send job Job Details Job Description The Health, Safety & Environmental Specialist will be responsible for ensuring all sites in the America's are legally compliant with facility environmental permits and regulations and shipping regulations while supporting various Health and safety programs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, implement, and maintain programs to ensure compliance with applicable environmental and safety regulations, including EPA, PA DEP, DOT, OSHA, and site-specific requirements. Manage and maintain environmental permits, reporting obligations, and regulatory documentation, while serving as a point of contact during inspections, audits, and regulatory interactions. Perform and facilitate structured risk assessments such as Job Hazard Analyses (JHA/JSA), Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEA), and, where applicable, Process Hazard Analyses (PHA). Ensure that process safety considerations are incorporated into equipment design, operational changes, and project implementation. Support Management of Change (MOC) activities to ensure risks are properly evaluated and controlled before implementation. Lead or support investigations of safety incidents, environmental releases, and near misses. Conduct root cause analyses, develop actionable corrective and preventive measures, and ensure timely closure of all identified actions. Additionally, analyze incident trends to identify recurring risks and drive preventive strategies. Supports development, implementation, and continuous improvement of safety programs, including but not limited to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Hazard Communication, Machine Guarding, and Contractor Safety. Provide field-level support and guidance to ensure programs are practical, effective, and fully integrated into operations. Conduct routine site inspections and compliance audits to identify hazards, non-conformances, and improvement opportunities. Work collaboratively with operations teams to implement sustainable solutions that reduce risk while maintaining operational efficiency. Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Support waste management programs, including scrap handling, waste classification, and coordination with external waste vendors. Identify opportunities for waste reduction and improved environmental performance. Assist with product compliance issues as needed. Assists in developing and delivering EHS-related training programs, including new employee orientation and task-specific safety training. Promote a proactive safety culture through visible engagement, coaching, and collaboration with employees at all levels of the organization. Support the development, implementation, and testing of emergency response plans, including fire safety, spill response, and evacuation procedures. Participate in drills and ensure readiness across the facility.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience:
3-5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in environmental, Safety, Chemical, Industrial, or related Engineering/Science field
Skills:
Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, including
EPA, DOT, PA
DEP, and OSHA Ability to handle multiple priorities. Experience with risk assessment methodologies such as JHA/JSA, FMEA, or similar tools Experience conducting incident investigations and implementing corrective actions Working knowledge of core safety programs (LOTO, confined space, hazard communication, machine safety, etc.) Project Management, planning & organization skills, attention to detail Ability to drive projects as an individual contributor and operate independently Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) or related risk-based process safety principles
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with PHAs, safeguards, and engineering control strategies Experience in chemical, aerosol, or high-hazard manufacturing environments Familiarity with ISO 14001 and
ISO 45001
