Job Description

Safety Specialist Construction Monday-Friday 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (40-50 hours per week) Columbus, Ohio (remote)
Permanent Opportunity What You'll Do:
Attends internal and external meetings to support project coordination and communication Participates in morning huddles and onsite safety meetings, providing constructive feedback and supporting incident follow-up efforts Assists with project-specific orientations as needed Collaborates with Field Leadership to support safety initiatives and onsite operations Performs regular jobsite safety audits and ensures corrective actions are completed Identifies and addresses safety hazards in real time, partnering with onsite crews to implement compliant and safe work practices Performs all required safety compliance training and educates employees on the proper use of Company safety forms Identifies respirator requirements and ensures compliance with medical evaluations and annual fit testing Maintains all certifications required for approval as a site safety professional Manages owner and construction manager-specific onsite documentation, ensuring timely and accurate submission Maintains adequate onsite supplies and resources for field personnel Investigates equipment and vehicle accidents and incidents Provides initial responder care for injured employees and subcontractors onsite Maintains communication with injured employees and internal teams to support a safe and timely return-to-work process Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and jobsite logistics Strong written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to resolve conflicts and effectively solve problems Proficient in utilizing company technology, software, and operating systems Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Capable of lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds as needed Ability to perform physical activities for extended periods, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, twisting, and climbing Ability to safely work in environments with loud noise levels and heavy equipment operations
What We're Looking For:
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years' experience in the construction industry
  • Familiarity with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and MUTCD preferred
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Must be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement upon hire
  • Must maintain an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) that meets the Company's eligibility
