About the
Position:
As Marelli drives the future of sustainable mobility, our Shelbyville plant is looking to strengthen its capabilities in energy efficiency and decarbonization. The Energy Senior Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting all aspects related to energy management at the plant. This position will report to the EHS Manager and actively collaborate with the Business Energy Manager to align corporate initiatives with local operations. You will help drive plant performance while ensuring compliance with global sustainability targets.Your Responsibilities will be:
- Support the EHS Manager in all plant-level energy management activities, ensuring alignment with corporate sustainability targets.
- Collaborate with the Business Energy Manager for planning, implementation, and reporting of plant energy and decarbonization programs.
- Collect, analyze, and consolidate energy data from plant operations for internal/external disclosures and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor plant energy KPIs, conduct gap analysis, and propose recovery plans to meet company objectives.
- Identify and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations concerning energy.
- Lead plant-specific energy efficiency projects, from feasibility through implementation, including upgrades in equipment, process modifications, and utilities management.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement decarbonization opportunities such as renewable energy integration, electrification of equipment, and waste reduction.
- Promote and disseminate best practices and training at the plant level.
- Support new process launches to ensure new equipment meets energy efficiency and sustainability requirements.
- Evaluate energy contracts, tariffs, and performance controls relevant to plant operations.
- Provide analysis for plant energy modeling, savings estimation, and performance improvement projects.
- Contribute to developing and monitoring the plant's Energy Consumption and CO2 Emission Reduction Plan as part of Marelli's Energy Pillar approach and methodology.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (energy, environmental, or related field preferred).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in energy management, operations, or manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in data analysis, energy performance monitoring, and reporting.
- Practical knowledge of energy efficiency solutions for plant utilities (electricity, water, compressed air, HVAC, etc.).
- Understanding of ISO 50001, climate change science, and decarbonization techniques.
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems, energy tariffs, and utility contracts.
- Experience with photovoltaic and battery energy storage systems is a plus.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to educate and influence plant staff.
- Hands-on experience in implementing energy efficiency and decarbonization projects at the plant level.
- Familiarity with global reporting standards and performance contracts.
- Ability to develop and use energy savings models for main energy carriers.
